What the system does and does not do
What it does
- Detects people, forklifts and equipment as objects in a frame.
- Measures distances, positions and movement between those objects.
- Flags safety exposures with a timestamp and the frame that shows it.
- Reports at the level of a zone, a shift and a camera view.
What it does not do
- No facial recognition. Faces are not matched against anything.
- No identity matching against employee records or badge data.
- No per-person tracking across cameras, shifts or days.
- No productivity, pace-of-work or time-on-task measurement.
Why identification is not needed to find a safety exposure
A near-miss between a forklift and a pedestrian is a geometric fact. Two objects were closer than they should have been, at a known time, in a known aisle. Answering that requires knowing where a person was, not who they were.
The same is true of a missing hard hat or an entry into a restricted zone. The exposure is defined by position and equipment, not by identity. Nothing about the detection improves if the system knows a name.
What footage is reviewed
During a pilot you choose 3–5 camera views, typically the highest-risk zones on your floor. Those are the only views analysed. You export footage in batches on a schedule that suits your team.
- You select the views. Clearbound does not connect to your camera system and browse it.
- There is no live streaming during a pilot. Footage is uploaded in segments after the fact.
- There is no integration with your network, badge system, HR records or scheduling.
- Break rooms, locker rooms, medical areas and offices are not the target and should not be submitted.
How long footage is kept
Uploaded footage is processed on Clearbound’s secure cloud platform. Flagged exposures are retained with their timestamped frames so they can appear in your weekly summaries and your day-45 report.
- Clearbound does not store continuous camera footage. Only short clips of flagged safety events are retained.
- Flagged event clips are automatically deleted after 60 days.
- Event records without video attached, meaning time, category and zone only, are retained for trending, typically for two years, with the exact period agreed before a pilot begins.
- At the end of a pilot, all Clearbound-held data is deleted within three months.
